Who's ready for some soccer?

That's right folks. It's that time again.
Logan and AJ are once again taking their fierceness on to the field!

Logan's first game as a Rebel will be played this Saturday.
I'm actually looking forward to the games now that the weather is nicer.

When Logan's not practicing his kicks, he's taking care of AJ's little sister, Julia.
Actually, I was watching her the other day and Logan insisted on feeding her.
I love that he's got his mouth open wider than she does.

Well.... it's a photo of my girl playing her flute with a camera that's been left in the fridge for two days. Note to the wise: Don't put your camera in the fridge for two days.

And lastly, one more cake I made last weekend.
Pretty simple.

I know. Exciting stuff, I tell ya.

So why was it that I never let my kids make lunch?

Oh yeah, now I remember.
M&M's, Cheetos, Lucky Charms (the cheap kind!) and a bagel.
This is what Logan had out for his lunch on a morning I overslept.
And the funny thing was, he was so sure I was going to let him.
(honestly, had I gotten up just a few minutes later I probably would have!
Don't judge.

A menagerie of stuff . .

Wow, I cannot believe it's been almost three weeks since I've gotten on the blog!
YIKES!
I must get my priorities straight . . .
We've all been humming right along, trying to get into some sort of schedule now that school has started.

Craig's been working with Logan on the bike riding, sans training wheels.

I flew up to Placerville for my girlfriend's 40th birthday.
It was great to see her and good old Northern California.

Not too many pics to share. This was pretty much all I saw the whole weekend.
But it was great to be able to sit and visit so I'm not complaining. (well, we did get into Placerville, but it's Placerville. 'nough said) Her house is beautiful and the weather was down right cool, that makes for a great time in my book.

The weekend before last was Gary's birthday. Mom and dad were also in town so we decided to splurge, put on our best flip flops and jeans and head over to Steele City Pizza.
Yep, nothin' is too good for Uncle Gary.

We had a great visit with mom and Dad.

Course these were the only photos we really got of their whole trip.

Chloe has been having a great time cheering. She and Daisy had pictures the other day, so I tried to get a few of my own so I didn't have to buy the big package deal.

Logan and AJ had fun just watching the cheerleaders.

And that's it!
I know, not really worth the three week wait.

Saturday!

Here is another cake that was for a Build a Bear party this morning. Ms. Olivia turned 3. I also made her a lollipop cake for her second birthday.

And this afternoon, Chloe got to cheer for her first football game.

She totally looked the part!

She did a wonderful job. This girl was full of spirit!

She had a huge smile on her face the entire time!
I, on the other hand, did not. I can say, without a doubt, that I AM NOT cut out for being a cheer mom in Texas. I have decided my children will ONLY go out for indoor sports. Chess, science club, book clubs . . . .ONLY INDOORS!

In addition to everything else, I've had several cakes on order. This past weekend I made another zebra cake for our friend Olivia.

I'm currently working on a teddy bear cake for tomorrow.

It's not going well, hence me updating the blog instead of decorating.

Okay, it's time to get back to work!

Finally!

Well hi there! Did 'cha miss us?
Okay, so life has been on fast forward these past few weeks. In the last few weeks, we've had several visitors, birthday parties to plan, school shopping to complete, cake orders to fill, PTO meetings to attend, dentist and doctors appointments to make, cheerleading practice to attend. I'm sure you get the picture.
Now that the kids are back in school and my class room is finally set up, I feel like I'm getting things under control . . . sort of.
Here's some things we've been doing since getting back from Oregon.
After a quick visit from Kim and Sophie, we had 4 days before school started.
In those four days, I had to plan Chloe's birthday party, but we still managed to have some fun at the pool.

Dee came to visit along with Aunt Janie and this was the only picture we got of her. And it's not even with MY kids! Although this little guy is a cutie, so I guess it's okay.

Chloe decided to have another pool party, so we went with a Thongs theme.
Dee and Janie did a wonderful job decorating 12 pairs of flip flops for the goody bags, bless their hearts!

Everyone had a blast and didn't seem to mind the simple fare of fruit and pizza! We were going to BBQ, but I think the heat index was up around 110 that day so we ordered out.

Chloe was especially proud of her cake since she helped decorate it.

The next day was the first day of school!
This year, we sent both our children off to the great land of learning with big smiles. Logan, excited to use his new backpack, Chloe excited to have a locker!

Mom and Dee did their absolute best to ensure they were the best dressed kids at school,

we were on our way. Chloe no longer goes to Kaufman, but was more than happy to walk her little brother to school.

We're scored with Logan's teacher, Mrs. Bradford, this year. Several people say she's the best Kindergarten teacher at Kaufman and so far, we agree 100%.

Surprisingly enough I didn't get all weepy as I left my baby at school.
He, of course, couldn't get rid of my fast enough.

Then we headed home to drive Chloe and Daisy to school.

This is when I started tearing up. I don't know why it bothered me more when Chloe went to class than when Logan did.

Then we went home and enjoyed the silence, and before I knew it, they were home again.

Both with big smiles, which is always a good sign.

The next day was Chloe's actual birthday.
She didn't have much fanfare, but she didn't seem to mind.

Since I had already done her big cake, I opted for a huge Ho-Ho with recycled candles.
Here I thought I was totally short changing her, but she LOVED it!
Go figure!
