In honor of Grandma Streit

In January, my Grandma Streit left us to be with her two true loves.  Grandpa Streit and her Lord.   In June, we traveled to Iowa for her memorial.
I have no doubt Grandma was smiling and watching every moment with love.

Mom and Dad met up with us there and we all shared this beautiful 100 year old home.  We watched bunnies play in the yards around us and chased fire flies in the evenings (a first for the kids and I).  It was so nice to spend time with our Iowa family.  It's far to long in between our visits.
We toured Dad's childhood home and picnicked at Streit park, all while sharing stories of the past, with Grandma as the star.

We then left Iowa and traveled to Chicago, where we got to visit with Aunt Joanne and Scotty, then met up with Craig and then over to stay our friends from Texas (from Chicago), Hector, Paula, Melanie, A.J. and Julia.

Chicago was truly a eclectically beautiful city.

 The Bean.

The Sky Deck at Willis Tower.

A boat tour around Navy Pier on Lake Michigan.

And finally an afternoon watching A.J.'s winning baseball team.
One last stop at Portillo's, my newest favorite.
And then a very long car ride home.

Chloe's Dive Banquet

Chloe's first dive banquet was so much fun...for her.
She was recognized as one of the few freshman who made varisty.
She danced, took lots of photos and basically pretended we didn't exsist for the entire night.

In all honestly, we LOVED watching her enjoy her night.   We are so proud of her.
Speaking of reasons to be proud, as if we needed more.   In her first dive meet with Conroe Dive Club, she took second in her first event and tied for first in her second event.
Not too shabby at all!
